Our Studio

Established in 2015, Design & Co was founded initially to work with cabinet makers and builders who wanted an approachable designer to work with their clients.  Our goal was to create an open communication path and assist  all parties to simplify the process from start to finish, while delivering a highly considered design outcome.

Design & Co has now grown into a busy Brisbane studio creating designs for both residential and boutique commercial spaces. Each project is specifically dedicated to the client’s own interests, lifestyle and preferences. The team has become known for their functional yet characterised designs across Australia.

    Grainne Devlin

    Creative Director & Interior Designer | BA (Hons) Dip Int. Design

    Founded by Grainne more than a decade ago, the studio has earned a quiet reputation for its collaborative approach to interiors — balancing spatial awareness, functionality and refined form.

    Originally from Ireland, Grainne worked throughout Europe before relocating to Australia in 2009. Her practical, honest nature continues to shape the values of Design & Co, a studio known for its approachable, supportive and highly considered design process.

    That sense of warmth and collaboration is deeply embedded within the creative team, whose passion lies in delivering spaces that feel both unexpected and deeply personal to each client. Based within a character-filled former wool store in vibrant Teneriffe, the studio reflects the same thoughtful balance of creativity, authenticity and timeless design.

  • Jocelyn Baxter

    Senior Interior Designer | B IntArch

    Jocelyn brings more than 18 years of multidisciplinary design experience to the Design & Co team, with a background spanning interior design, photography, textiles and fashion. This diverse creative foundation informs her thoughtful and highly personalised approach to interiors — balancing functional spatial planning with layered details that reflect each client’s personality and create a genuine emotional connection to their home.

    Holding a Bachelor of Interior Architecture alongside a Diploma of Interior Design and Decoration, Jocelyn offers extensive technical expertise across kitchen, bathroom and custom joinery design. Her refined eye for detail and practical understanding of how people live allows her to create spaces that feel both effortless and deeply considered.

    Her design philosophy centres on understated luxury — spaces that are calm, functional and timeless, elevated through bespoke detailing and carefully curated finishes.

  • Nathan Exley

    Interior Designer | Dip Int Design

    After completing his Diploma of Interior Design in 2022, Nathan developed a passion for creating spaces that feel relaxed while still remaining unique and full of character. His background working in a plumbing showroom sparked his love for colour selections, material pairings, and thoughtful design details.

    Since joining the Design & Co team in 2025, he combines creativity and style to bring interiors to life in a way that feels both functional and beautiful.

    Colour Consultant & BOSS

    Maggie our little Maltese cross Terrier rules the studio and can often be seen chilling in the studio window - watching the world go by!

    Her favourite things are snoozing, "welcoming" anyone to the studio and hiding treats in the most unexpected places!

  • Quite possibly the greatest professional services experience of my life. I say 'professional services' loosely because the team at Design & Co are the most personable, caring, empathetic and intuitive people I have had the pleasure of working with. We unfortunately had to gut our apartment back to bare as the result of a storm. Not knowing where to begin we sought out Design & Co for help, and they have turned a personal disaster into our dream home. From the day we arrived as a confused couple all the way to a stunning final reveal the Design & Co team held our hand and provided professional, stunning advice. The price we paid for their fee was washed out by the savings in reconstruction alone, but the increase in capital value makes engaging with them a no-brainer.
